Fall Wedding Season is here! That means it’s time to report on the newest wedding trends for fall 2017! One of the things we love is that weddings are becoming more and more personalized, fitting the personality and budget of any couple. However, while weddings will always be unique for each, there are a few items that seem to be more and more prevalent in the weddings we attend and put on ourselves.
Here is our list of the top 5 fall 2017 wedding trends you might want to incorporate into your big day!
Beautiful Calligraphy
Calligraphy is a simple way to add in some whimsy and elegance to your wedding day. Many times, this lovely writing can be the thread tying everything together. It can be incorporated into wedding invitations and save the dates before the wedding, place cards and welcome signs during the event, and in thank you cards sent out after. It may seem like a simple thing, but a great font can help set the tone of your event before your guests even arrive.
Natural/Earthy Floral
While flowers will always be an important part of an event, greenery is really stealing the show this season. In the past, the greenery served mainly as an accent to the main floral arrangements. However, greens are now stealing the show, with flowers acting as the accent. You’re likely to see anything from beautiful ivy to earthy succulents gracing the tables and even the bouquet!
Non Traditional Food Options
While many brides still choose to go with a traditional, sit-down, plated meal, more and more couples are choosing less traditional methods for food service. We’re seeing brides choose creative food stations, like a “build-you-own” taco station or gourmet coffee bar. Even food trucks are hitting the wedding scene. While these options are not for every couple, they are a fun way to provide an entertaining and personalized experience for each guest.
Minimalist Cakes
Our article about 2016 Wedding Trends saw the rise of what are called “naked cakes”. These cakes steer away from the traditional, highly decorated cake to much more minimalistic cakes, decorated mostly with fresh fruits or flowers. This initial fad has evolved into quite the trend, bringing with it the concept of “minimalist wedding cakes”. Deconstructed cakes are coming in many forms, from the naked cake to the new translucent cakes. (Click here to see what we mean!) We’re also seeing an upswing in brides going with a more simplistic white-on-white designs.
Unique Desserts
As cakes are getting smaller and more simplistic, brides are often needing to supplement the cake with other, non-traditional desserts for their guests. We’ve been seeing a trend with candy tables, cupcakes, and even doughnuts. However, the main choice we’ve seen for fall is pie! Nothing feels more like fall than cute pies for guests to enjoy. We love pie and think this is a great, inexpensive option for the autumn bride!
What do you think? Are you going to incorporate any of these trends into your fall wedding or event?
