Colonial Williamsburg is a living restoration of the historic, Revolutionary-era Williamsburg settlement. Throughout the year, this attraction is busy with activity as trained reenactors and colonial tradesmen take visitors back in time to experience life during this time.
Colonial Williamsburg celebrates many holidays, however they go all out for Independence Day. This event last four days! In addition to the normal attractions and tours always offered, this weekend will feature special events, such as new reenactments, musical concerts, food, and, of course, the best fireworks show in the Williamsburg area!
All of these special events lead up to the main event on 4th of July evening called, Food, Fanfare, and Fireworks. This event begins at 4pm and runs late into the evening, finishing with the fireworks display, right in the heart of downtown, historic Colonial Williamsburg. This includes lots of fun games and activities for children, as well as events for adults too!
There is also the option of dining at The Williamsburg Lodge, Williamsburg Virginia’s finest resort, boasting an impressive 4-stars in accommodations and dining. This dinner takes place in the Virginia Room, an elegant ballroom, with fabulous musical entertainment. The option for dining is limited and tickets are required.
For other dining options in Colonial Williamsburg, try one of the historic taverns! These are always a favorite for tourists and provide the perfect location for checking out the fireworks after dinner. Reservations are required to be seated.
