Guidelines for a Relaxing Stay

Yes, all of our rooms and suites have private baths.

Yes, each room will be quite comfortable in summer and winter.

No, we have taken out the phones as most guests have cell phones today.

Yes, we have whole house Wi-Fi. We will provide a password at check-in.

Yes, we have a 2 night minimum. If you desire an exception please call and we may be able to accommodate

Check-in time is at 4:00 pm and check-out time is 11:00 am. If you desire to check in early or check out late, you may contact us to see if extra hours are available for purchase as an add on to your stay.

The common areas are available for rent, but an arrangement must be made and a rental agreement must be signed with the innkeeper prior to your stay. Because we are a wedding venue, we often host elopements or vow renewals in the living room, therefore we cannot allow large parties to occupy the common areas without prior arrangement and a signed rental agreement.

Our private off-street parking lot is located in the front of the Inn. Please refer to your check-in instructions for specifics regarding parking.

Yes, ages 12 and up per a conversation with the innkeeper. Children younger than 12 may be guests pending a conversation with our innkeeper prior to booking.

Yes, however they are only allowed with a booking of our pet-friendly room, the Library Room, for a fee of $50 per day. Please see our pet policies and procedures below.

Colonial Gardens is a non-smoking Williamsburg lodging facility.

No, common areas are not available to guests until their check in at 4:00 p.m. unless by prior agreement with the innkeeper in writing. The common areas are available for rent by guests for functions or gatherings with non-guests, but an agreement must be signed with the innkeeper prior to the stay.

Please consider that due to our small size, cancellations affect us significantly. A last-minute cancellation gives us little chance of rebooking a room, so our policies are firm.

If your travel plans change and you must cancel or change your reservation, please email us at least 14 (fourteen) days* before your arrival date. In this case, you may apply the deposit to a future visit at no charge, or your deposit, less a $25 admin fee per room, will be refunded to your credit card account.

Cancellation (or reduction in room nights) of a confirmed reservation within 14 days of the scheduled arrival date will result in no refund given (regardless of the reason for non-arrival or early departure), and the credit card account on file will be charged the balance of the confirmed total amount. If we can rebook the room for the dates canceled, you will receive credit for a future stay.

The cancellation policy covers early departures and partial cancellations, shortened stays due to medical or family emergencies, bad weather, missed or canceled flights, and changes of plans.

*A 90-day cancellation notice is required for multiple room bookings, whole house bookings, and some holidays and special event dates.

We recommend you purchase vacation trip insurance through Travel Guard or a similar company to avoid accepting the risk of incurring cancellation charges due to personal or family emergencies, etc.

 

Pet Policy

We love pets at Colonial Gardens! Here are the house policies so you and the other guests will have a pleasant and safe stay with us:

  1. Pets are not allowed in the guest rooms without supervision except during breakfast, as pets are not allowed in the dining area.
  2. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times in the house and on the property.
  3. Except for isolated incidents, barking is not tolerated out of respect for your fellow guests. If your dog is a barker, you must board or make other arrangements immediately. We have honeymooners, wedding anniversaries, etc. and cannot allow our other guests to be disturbed.
  4. Pets may be pottied in the front yard, and debris must be cleaned up immediately after. If you need plastic bags, please let us know. The backyard is a private area for the owners so no pets or foot traffic is allowed.
  5. All pets must be fully up to date on vaccines and proof of currency must be supplied at check-in.
  6. If your pet damages the Bed and Breakfast property, you will be responsible for the damages and the cost to repair or replace any damaged property will be charged to your card on file.
  7. No pets are allowed on the furniture at any time. Please let us know if your pet typically sleeps with you so we may provide a blanket that will not be damaged by pet hair, smell, or messes in order to protect our bedding.

NO PETS ON THE SHEETS, TOWELS OR OUR WHITE COMFORTERS.

If your pet has an accident on the floor or carpet, inform us so we can take proper measures to clean it up. Do not clean the mess yourself, as we have special enzymatic cleaners that are not compatible with other types of products. You are responsible for the replacement of rugs or furniture if accidents cannot be cleaned effectively.
